There are certain charges we eat as a courtesy when orders get to be a certain size. They are the cost of doing business. The 20 cents per-transaction fee for processing credit cards (in addition to 2-3% of the charged amount), the cost of shipping materials, paper in printing receipts, electricity in running computers and printers to process the order, and indeed the cost of labor in preparing your order and shipping it are examples. But when you order, say, one $2.50 set of sprague-rappaport stethoscope tubing, which carries with it at most 50 cents worth of profit, and NOTHING else, what you are doing is actually asking us to go out of our way to lose money to serve you. The customer is always right - until he wants something for less than it costs us. So we have implemented a low order fee of 2.50 dollars if you go below the minimum order. If you are ordering bumpers, the minimum order is 5 dollars - because the troemner bumpers and queensquare soft bumpers cost 5 dollars and the queensquare medium bumpers cost 2.50, and because people ordering these parts likely are just getting replacement parts for parts they ordered from us in the past.
